More than 250 delegates and guests will participate in the Balance Assembly of the Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, scheduled for next Saturday, April 2.
The meeting will discuss the implementation in the province of the ideas, concepts and guidelines outlined by the Eighth Congress held a year ago: the continuity of the Revolution, the role of the Party and unity, cadre politics, ideological activity, democracy socialist, the economy, the blockade, foreign policy and the defense of the Socialist Homeland.
The efforts in all these spheres are marked by the intensification of the blockade imposed by the historical enemy of the Revolution, the Government of the United States, and its impacts on our society, aggravated by the epidemiological situation derived from the COVID-19 pandemic. . In this context, boosting the economy is ratified as the fundamental task for the realization of the objectives set out in the Strategy and the National Economic and Social Development Plan until 2030.
For the country's economy, the results of Camagüey in activities such as the Cuban warrior and the Cuban warrior and livestock, sugar and agricultural production are decisive, still without the necessary yields and whose commitments will be ratified in the Assembly.
The role of the Party's grassroots organizations and the exemplary nature of their militants in achieving progress in these and other sectors will also be analyzed, together with the strategic importance of complying with quality provisions regarding the cadre policy, a matter in which the province must set higher goals.
Attention to youth will not be lacking in the partisan agenda. As explained by Yohan Balón Gómez, head of the Department of Organization and Politics of Cadres in the province, this constitutes a priority to guarantee the continuity of the revolutionary process, so the debates will focus on the permanent exchange with that sector and its growth to the Party. , of which the Union of Young Communists is the main quarry.
All these work projections and their realization in the nuclei, groups and communities will be followed up by the 74 members who elect for the new Provincial Committee. This week, as part of the preparation of those who will attend the Assembly, those who performed responsibly and unconditionally in that structure during the stage, marked by the last two years of increasing complexities, were recognized.The delegates received information about different topics, exchanged with labor groups in the municipalities of Sierra de Cubitas, Nuevitas, Sibanicú, Florida and Camagüey, and carried out tasks to support the planting of cassava in the productive pole of Punta Brava, in the municipality from Jimaguayu.They learned about the confrontation with ideological political subversion with an emphasis on social networks; the main indicators of the functioning of the organization; the promotion of science and the development of technology and innovation in the territory; the process of improvement of Trade, the projections of tourism, the development of the investment process, the situation of exports and imports, the new economic actors (specifically the MSMEs) and the implementation of the 43 measures for the strengthening of the state company socialist.They also delved into the food sovereignty plan and the preparation, organization and comprehensive assurance of the sugar harvest in the province. In this regard, Ania Ricardo Leiva, delegate to the event from the Siboney Sugar Industrial Company, commented, "Having Party members in each area of the center allows us to better understand the need to produce more and, despite the effects suffered by the sector, our focus is to fulfill the planned plan”.Work meetings with all the militants and projections from the nuclei in the work centers and communities to materialize the spirit of the Eighth Congress are part of the Party's daily agenda, focused on "taking on the enormous challenges that the nation faces today with great demands and very rigorously”, as Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, his first secretary in the country, recently stated.
